Biography
Seema Singh is a distinguished member of the technical staff at the Sandia National Laboratories, CA and director of the biomass pretreatment at the Joint Bioenergy Institute. For the past decade, she has been developing novel pretreatment technologies based on ionic liquids. She has developed ‘hybrid chem-bio’ approaches and ‘syn-bio tools’ for lignin valorization and single cell technologies for in-situ examination of algal oil. She serves as the organizing committee member of the Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals and Asia-Pacific Conference on Ionic Liquid and Green Processes as well as associate editor and editorial board member of Frontiers in Bioenergy and Biofuels, and Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology respectively. She recently edited the book on “Valorization of Lignocellulosic Biomass in a Biorefinery: From Logistics to Environmental and Performance Impact†and contributed book chapters in Ionic Liquids in the Biorefinery Concept: Challenges and Perspectives and Biofuels for Aviation
